Celebrating Scribes, Scholars and conservators
An Exhibition of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish Manuscripts
at the McGill's McLennan Library

The exhibition also highlights the work of Les Amis de la reliure d'art who volunteered their summer to construct up to one hundred conservation boxes and portfolios. The exhibition items are drawn from the rare collections of the Islamic Studies Library and from the Rare Books Division of the McGill Library. We wish to acknowledge not only the members of ARA but the generous contributions of the donors who allowed for this collaborative community endeavour to be a success, especially the Ismaili Community of Quebec, Canadian National Railway, IBM Canada, Scotiabank, Woolfits Art Enterprises and Lee Valley Tools. The exhibition is curated by Adam Gacek, and was put together in collaboration with Ann Marie Holland and Donald Hogan of the McGill Library, as well as Anne-Marie Saint-Onge and Saskia Roukema (ARA).
